Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 16 September 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said, 'The ideology of the Liberation War was erased on August 15, 1975. Artists, poets, writers and writers have captured it in their writings. As a result, we politicians have been able to build Bangladesh in the spirit of the liberation war. Again, so that no one can ever distort the victory story of our liberation war, I call on everyone to be vigilant.

She said these things at a program titled 'Shahabuddin: A Retrospective (1973-2023)' on the artworks of internationally renowned painter Shahabuddin Ahmed at the National Museum on Friday, September 15.

Sheikh Hasina said, 'Artist's paintings can be understood with the heart. At the same time, patriotism can be inspired. A consciousness is awakened. The spirit of the Great Liberation War is very important for us. In that spirit, our people of Bangladesh will wake up and build the country on the ideals of the liberation war in the future. Again, so that no one can ever distort the victory story of our liberation war, I call on everyone to be vigilant.

The Prime Minister said, 'The nature and various images of our country emerge from the scratch of the artists. The image of poverty-stricken people also emerges. I keep them with me. I see and tell my colleagues that I want to change this image from Bangladesh.

She said, "The scratch of the artist's cotton is very strong. The artists we have, especially our Shahabuddin - like my younger brother, he is one of the best. Until now, I feel the spirit of the liberation war in the scratch of his cotton. It seems that now he will fight for liberation again. In fact, we are still fighting the liberation war.

The Prime Minister also said, 'On August 15, 1975, the spirit of freedom, the ideals of the liberation war - everything was erased. Our poets, artists, writers, writers have retained this spirit through their writings. Today, that spirit has started to come back among our young generation, that is the biggest achievement.

Earlier, the Prime Minister inaugurated and visited the special exhibition titled 'Shahabuddin: A Retrospective (1973-2023)' on the artworks of painter Shahabuddin Ahmed.
