Dhaka, February 17: President Md. Abdul Hamid called upon political leaders and public representatives to maintain good relations with the people.

He made this call during an exchange of views with the upazila's people's representatives and prominent individuals and officials of different classes and professions at the President Abdul Hamid Auditorium building of Haor Upazila of Kishoreganj on Thursday afternoon.

Expressing gratitude to the people of the area for being repeatedly elected as a member of Parliament, the President said, "Not for personal interest, I have worked all my life for the development of the Haor area. To get the people's love, the people must be valued without neglecting them."

Member of Parliament of Kishoreganj-5 (Bajitpur-Nikoli) Constituency Md. Afzal Hossain; Member of Parliament for Kishoreganj-4 (Itna-Mithamain-Ashtagram) Constituency Rezwan Ahmad Taufiq; District Awami League President (Acting) and Zilla Parishad Chairman Bir Muktijoddha Zillur Rahman; Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad; Superintendent of Police Mohammad Russell Sheikh; Zilla Parishad Executive Officer Mohammad Abdullah; Public Prosecutor Advocate Abu Nasser Farooq Md. Sanju; Itna Upazila Awami League President and Upazila Parishad Chairman Chowdhury Kamrul Hasan; General Secretary Sohrab Uddin Tagore; Upazila Executive Officer (UNO) Nafisa Akhtar and others were present.

Earlier, President Abdul Hamid visited various development activities of Abdul Hamid Foundation, Mithamin and Itna upazilas under construction in his name at Mithamin. After the exchange meeting, President Abdul Hamid went back to his home Kamalpur in Mithamin and spent the night there at his residence.

The President will visit the under-construction cantonment at Mithamain on February 17 at 12 noon. He will then receive a guard of honor at Mithamain's residence at 3:30 p.m. The President will leave the residence for the helipad at 3 pm. Later at 3:10 PM he will leave for Dhaka from the helipad. After arriving at Tejgaon Helipad at 3:50 PM, depart for Bangabhaban. The President is scheduled to reach Bangabhaban at 4:10 PM.
