Bangladesh-India Information Minister Hasan Mahmud meets Indian counterpart, External Affairs Minister
Dhaka, September 8: Information and Broadcasting Minister Dr Hassan Mahmood on Tuesday called on his Indian counterpart Anurag Singh Thakur and Foreign Minister S Jaishankar in New Delhi. Thakur met with him at the official residence in the morning. Mahmud discussed the progress of Bangabandhu's life and work based biopic being jointly produced by the two countries, making a film on the liberation war of Bangladesh and possible joint ventures on the occasion of 50 years of Bangladesh's independence and 75 years of India's independence.
Dr. Hassan Mahmood informed the Minister of Information and Broadcasting of India of the decision to implement the existing law on ad-free clean feed broadcasting of foreign TV channels.
He held a meeting with the Indian Foreign Affairs Minister in the South Block (Foreign Office) of New Delhi. The meeting focused on enhancing public relations, trade and investment between the two countries, as well as mutual cooperation in tackling the Covid situation.
Bangladesh High Commissioner to Delhi Mohammad Imran, Deputy High Commissioner Nural Alam and Press Minister Shaban Mahmood were with the minister at the time. Information Minister Dr Hasan is returning to the country on Wednesday.
