Bangabazar Fire Investigation underway to determine whether fire was due to dispute between traders
Dhaka, April 8: The police are investigating whether the fire broke out due to a conflict between traders in the capital's Bangabazar.
Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) Commissioner Khandaker Golam Farooq said this in response to questions from journalists at FDC on Saturday.
He said that there was a dispute between the businessmen regarding the multi-storied building in Bangabazar. An investigation is underway to determine whether the conflict led to the fire. The fire service is also investigating the cause of the fire. Besides, 11 people have been arrested in the attack on the fire service office. Their motives are being investigated.
When asked why there is a delay in arresting the abducted militants, Ghulam Farooq said that it is taking time to bring them under the law in the investigation of the abduction of militants from the court. Because they don't use normal mobile or IT.
Last April 4 at 6:10 in the morning, a terrible fire broke out in Bangabazar of the capital. More than five thousand shops were burnt to ashes.
