Dhaka, June 27: The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) of the police has claimed that the nut-bolt of the railing of the Padma Bridge should not be opened by hand. The CID says it is not possible to open the nut-bolt of the Padma Bridge by hand alone without any parts. "This is a subversive act. Those who have opened the nuts and bolts of the Padma Bridge will be brought under the law," it said.

Superintendent of Police Rezaul Masud said that although it was forbidden to stand or take pictures on the Padma Bridge, a young man named Bayazid Talha took the opportunity to relax on the first day and opened the nut-bolt of the Padma Bridge with malicious intent which went viral on his own TikTok account. Detained Bayazid has been charged under the Special Powers Act. The case will be investigated by the CID.

The CID official said that if such videos were spread on social media, it would spread through other social media, including TikTok, at the moment. It was also reported in various online news portals. As seen in the video, the young man is doing insignificant and sarcastic gestures and laughter about the Padma Bridge. As seen in the viral video, he opened the two nuts of the railing of the Padma Bridge, took the open nut in his hand and said, "This is our Padma Bridge ... the Padma Bridge. Look at our Padma Bridge worth thousands of crores of taka. This nut is in my hand."

Rezaul Masood further said that after the video was uploaded on the ticket, it came to the notice of the monitoring team of CID's cyber police. The CID cyber monitoring team quickly identified the youth. He was arrested from Shantinagar area of the capital at 4 pm.

Asked if he had any political identity, he said he could have a political identity. But we are taking his crime seriously.
