Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Oct 8: It will take about two more years to have an uninterrupted grid with modern technology.

The government is working on opportunities to get 1500 MW of electricity from renewable energy such as solar power, and wind power. It will take about two more years to have an uninterrupted grid with modern technology.

State Minister for Power, Energy and Mineral Resources Nasrul Hamid said these things in a press conference at his residence in the capital on Friday (October 7).

He also said that due to the instability in the international market, there is no possibility of reducing the price of fuel oil in the country. However, he claimed that load-shedding is less than before.

The state minister said that there is no comfort zone for importing oil and gas. That's why the price is not decreasing for now. However, load shedding is reduced. Now load shedding is 500 to 700 MW per day.

Nasrul Hamid said about the power failure in the national power transmission line on October 4, why this problem suddenly appeared in the national grid cannot be said quickly. The investigation committee is working. Have to wait for their report.

Regarding the modernization of electricity management, he said that due to the World Bank's delay and the Covid situation, many works of modernization of electricity transmission management have been delayed. The matter is still being given importance.
