Dhaka, December 24: Jamaat Amir Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has admitted the involvement of his son Dr. Rafat Sadiq Saifullah with the new militant organization "Jamaatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya".

CTTC chief Asaduzzaman claimed this in a press conference organized by the media and public relations department of DMP on Thursday (December 22).

DMP CTTC Chief Additional Police Commissioner Md. Asaduzzaman claimed that Dr. Shafiqur knew that his son was involved in militancy. Still he remained silent.

The matter was not reported to the law enforcement agencies. Dr. Shafiqur Rahman has been remanded for another three days to find the association of Jamaat as an organization with the new militant organization 'Jamatul Ansar Fil Hindal Sharqiya'.

When asked whether you have received any solid evidence regarding Jamaat Amir's involvement in militancy, he said, according to the definition of terrorism, you knew that your son was involved in militancy, but you did not inform the law and order forces, that is also a crime. His son migrated, his son left for the hills of Bandarban with a group. But unable to go, contacted the father, he (Shafiqur Rahman) made all arrangements to bring him (son) back safely. It is the ultimate support for terrorism.

You have given the opportunity to bring many people back from militancy. Are there many examples? In response to such questions, the CTTC chief said that if the law and order forces felt that this boy wanted to return to normal life from militancy, action could have been taken if the family applied. But father Dr. Shafiqur Rahman knew that his son was involved in militancy. But he did not inform law enforcement. He kept the whole thing a secret.

When asked about the whereabouts of the two militants who escaped from the court premises, he said that it is not yet time to say. He is in the country, he has not yet escaped from the country.
