Dhaka, November 15: Rowshan Ershad, the Leader of the Opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad and the main patron of the Jatiya Party, is undergoing treatment at the Bamrungrad Hospital in Bangkok, Thailand. She has been put on oxygen support.

On Sunday afternoon, her son and Jatiya Party joint secretary Saad Ershad said, "Amma's [my mother's] condition is not very good. Not too bad again. At present she is being put on oxygen support. There is an infection in the left leg. She is undergoing treatment for it."

Saad Ershad asked the people to pray for his mother. He said it will take time to fully recover.

On the afternoon of November 5, Rowshan Ershad was taken to Thailand by air ambulance for advanced treatment. On August 14, she complained of complication in her lungs. As oxygen levels began to drop, the veteran lawmaker was admitted to the Combined Military Hospital, where she was kept in ICU for some time. When the condition improved a little, she was moved to the cabin. While in hospital, her condition deteriorated again on October 20. Later she was moved to the ICU again.

Earlier, Rowshan Ershad returned home on May 23 after receiving treatment at the hospital for 24 consecutive days. She is suffering from various complications due to old age, including lung problems.

Rowshan Ershad is Jatiya Party founder and former president late Hussain Muhammad Ershad's wife. She is a Member of Parliament for Mymensingh-4 constituency and has been the Leader of the Opposition in Parliament for the last two terms.
