Own representative, Dhaka, 19 November 2023: The Jatiya Party has decided to participate in the upcoming 12th National Parliament elections. In a letter sent to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC), Jatiya Party office-bearer GM Quader appealed for the party's candidate nomination and symbol.

A letter was sent to Chief Election Commissioner Kazi Habibul Awal on Saturday. After that, Begum Rowshan Ershad wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) saying that the Jatiya Party will be part of the Grand Alliance in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections.

The conflict between the party chairman GM Quader and the party's main patron Begum Rowshan Ershad over the authority of the Jatiya Party has been going on for a long time. This conflict has developed with the Election Commission. On Saturday, GM Quader and Rowshan Ershad wrote separate letters to the EC stating whose signatures would be submitted, who would own the plow symbol and who would be elected as part of the JaPa Grand Alliance.

Jatiya Party Secretary General Md. Mujibul Haque Chunnu MP said on Friday that Jatiya Party will make a final decision regarding participation in the 12th election within the next two days. Earlier, Jatiya Party (JaPa) chief patron Rowshan Ershad welcomed the schedule of the 12th National Assembly elections on November 16 and said that there will be a fair vote. However, the general secretary of the party reacted cautiously. After announcing the schedule, they responded to reporters on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, the conflict between Jatiya Party chairman GM Quader and the party's main patron Begum Rowshan Ershad has been going on for a long time. On this day, Begum Rowshan Ershad wrote a letter to the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) stating that the Jatiya Party will be part of the Grand Alliance in the upcoming 12th National Assembly elections.

Another letter written to the CEC informed about the Jatiya Party's coming to the polls. The letter signed by the party's general secretary Md. Mujibul Haque Chunnu was sent to CEC Kazi Habibul Awal by e-mail.

Chunnu mentioned in the letter, in the case of giving nominations for the upcoming National Parliament elections on behalf of the Jatiya Party (Registration No-12), according to the RPO, the nominee of the political party for the position of Member of Parliament will be nominated and allotted the symbol of the party as the empowered person of the Jatiya Party- Chairman of the Jatiya Party Golam Mohammad Quader.
