Dhaka, January 22: BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's health condition has improved. However, it will take time for her to return home as the treatment is not over yet. The former prime minister will have to undergo treatment at the hospital for a few more days.

According to medical sources, Khaleda Zia's condition has improved. Her biggest problem is 'bleeding' which has stopped for the last 15 days. In addition, the problems of diabetes, kidney and liver were now under control. Considering these aspects, it can be said that the physical condition of this former Prime Minister has improved, though it cannot be said that she's completely healthy.

Dr AZM Zahid Hossain, a doctor at Khaleda Zia's medical board, said, "Madam (Khaleda Zia) is ill. She is still hospitalized. The doctors of the medical board formed for her treatment sit once a day, see her and treat her accordingly."

He added, "The sooner Madam is taken out of the country and given medical treatment, the better for her. The treatment that is possible in the country has been given. There is no substitute for his treatment at advanced centers abroad. Now we have nothing to do if no one is allowed to go."

Sources in the BNP and doctors say that although Khaleda Zia's physical condition has improved, it is not possible to bring her home now. She will have to stay in the hospital for some more time. Because as much treatment as possible in the country has not been completed yet. Earlier, Khaleda Zia was brought home from the hospital following her wishes, but she had to be readmitted in a short time. So this time as much as possible, there are plans to bring home after completing the treatment in the country.

According to Khaleda Zia's family sources, due to the increase in the incidence of coronavirus in the country, the opportunities for visitors to meet Khaleda Zia have been limited. At present Khaleda Zia's brother Shamim Iskander and his wife go to visit. There is no opportunity to meet others outside of this.
