More than 350,000 applications on the first day of admission to XI

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 11 August 2023: More than three and a half lakh students have applied on the first day of online application for admission to Class XI. Applications open at 8 a.m. on Thursday. Three and a half lakh students applied for admission till 7 pm on this day.

This information was given by Professor Tapan Kumar Sarkar, Chairman of Inter-Education Board Coordinating Committee and Chairman of Dhaka Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Board around 10:30 am on Friday. He said, "I am seeing huge response from the students. From the number of applications received on the first day (Thursday), it seems that the first phase will be completed within seven days. However, applications can be made till August 20."

Tapan Kumar Sarkar said, "We calculated on Thursday evening, about three hundred and fifty students are applying every minute. Today is a holiday. Today's update has not been taken yet. Since online application, many students will apply even on holidays. Hope they get the college they like."

Students have to login to the server and apply. But before that the application fee has to be submitted. Payment can be made through bKash without going to any bank. Then select your preferred college and submit online. A student can apply for a minimum of five and a maximum of 10 colleges or equivalent institutions on the basis of preference, subject to depositing an application fee of Tk 150 in case of online application.

Out of the number of colleges to which a student applies, placement in a college will be determined based on the student's merit, quota (where applicable) and preference.

The first phase application will be taken from August 10-20. Students who have changed their results by applying for re-scrutiny on August 31 will be given an opportunity to apply. The results of the first phase may be declared on September 5. The students selected in the first phase will get the opportunity to confirm the election on September 7-10.

This year's SSC and equivalent exam results were released on July 28. This time the average pass rate in 11 education boards is 80.39 percent. 16 lakh 41 thousand students have passed. A total of 1 lakh 83 thousand 578 people got GPA-5 this year.
