Dhaka, Oct 12: Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal told the US pre-election observation team that no one can get away by rigging elections and his political party does not have such a mentality. He said this to reporters after a meeting with the observation team at the secretariat on Wednesday.

The Home Minister said, "I told them (observation team), our media people are completely free. They publish any news at any time. We do not suppress anyone's voice in this regard."

He said, "We have more than three thousand daily newspapers. Then there is social media. Various types of news are given there. So I don't think anyone can get through corruption or vote rigging here. Our political party no longer has that kind of mentality. Everyone thinks the rule of law has been established. The Election Commission will present a beautiful election under their supervision."

The minister said, "They asked us about various issues. We have said that we have faced a lot of violence. Now, under the leadership of the Prime Minister, I am seeing the atmosphere of violence and terrorist free and peace in our country. The Prime Minister established the rule of law. The Prime Minister has established the rule of law."

He said, "The people of the country always want a peaceful environment, the people of the country do not like any kind of fighting. We don't think there will be violence here."

Stating that this election commission has conducted 5,300 elections, the minister said, "Our security forces are responsible for the elections. Security forces conducted the election under the Election Commission. Police are well trained, they know how to conduct elections. Similarly BGB, Coast Guard, Ansar play role in elections. More than 6,00,000 members of Ansar will play a key role in the elections along with the police. The Election Commission also takes the assistance of the army as required, we have reminded them of that too."

The Home Minister also said, "They wanted to know whether the security forces have the capacity to organize this election or not. We have told them the details."

"I told them that the violence that used to happen before will not happen now." We think elections in our subcontinent really create a festive atmosphere," he added.
