Dhaka, April 22: Kalbaishakhi storm (Nor'wester) hit Dhaka on Wednesday night. The wind started at 10:25 pm. There is light rain with strong winds. Lots of dust blew in the air accompanied by lightning strikes. In Dhaka, the storm with gusts of up to 83 kmph hit the state. There have also been thunderstorms in other parts of the country. The storm blew towards Sylhet around 12 o'clock at night.

According to the Meteorological Department, the Kalbaishakhi storm hit Dhaka for about half an hour after 10:10 pm on Wednesday. Its maximum speed was 83 kilometers per hour.

Besides, thunderstorms have lashed Rajshahi, Pabna, Sirajganj, Mymensingh and other areas.

For the last few days, intense heat was flowing across the country. Finally, the rain of relief was seen. But the wind blows more than the rain. It has rained with wind in about seven parts of the country. It has been raining in several areas including Rajshahi and Natore since this afternoon.

The meteorological office said that there is a possibility of temporary gusts or thundershowers in Rajshahi, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Khulna, Barisal, Chittagong and Sylhet divisions in the next 24 hours from Wednesday evening.

Meanwhile, mild swells over Sitakunda, Rangamati, Noakhali, Feni, Moulvibazar, Rajshahi and Pabna areas, Dhaka, Khulna and Barisal divisions are likely to continue. Day and night temperatures may drop across the country in the next 24 hours.

Incidentally, last Tuesday, the maximum temperature in the country exceeded 40 degrees Celsius. Besides, temperatures of 38 to 39 degrees Celsius were recorded in different areas. Besides, hot weather prevails in different parts of the country. All in all, the temperature is slightly lower in the rain of relief in hot weather.
