Dhaka, Jan 9: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has commented that not a single person in the country will remain poor.

She made this comment in a press conference with journalists and observers from home and abroad at Ganobhaban on Monday afternoon regarding the 12th National Parliament election.

Sheikh Hasina said, "I have elected eight times. Now again. This time the people participated spontaneously. 80 percent of the people of Bangladesh were poor. Bangabandhu's goal was that the people of the country would have a better life. I have to fulfill the ideals that my father has worked with."

In response to a foreign journalist's question about BNP's election boycott, she said that a party has boycotted the election. The party, which was created from military dictators, fears elections. Because they don't have public support.

She thanked the foreign observers and journalists on behalf of herself, her family and the people of the country for coming to Bangladesh.

She said, "You will go back to your respective countries, talk about our country. Our country is very beautiful."

Awami League leaders including local and foreign observers, journalists, Bangabandhu's younger daughter Sheikh Rehana, Prime Minister's daughter Putul were present.
