Padma Bridge Construction Padma Bridge has shown that Bangladesh can, says PM Hasina
Dhaka, June 9: The Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina has said that the construction of Padma Bridge with her own funds has created the idea that 'Bangladesh can do it' which has brightened the image of the country in the world. She said, "By establishing the idea that Bangladesh can do it by itself, it has brightened the status of Bangladesh in particular. And we did it because of confidence."
The Prime Minister and Leader of the House Sheikh Hasina thanked the National Assembly on Wednesday night for the construction of the Padma Bridge and the inauguration of the country's largest infrastructure.
She said that Dr. Yunus, in his greed to retain the post of MD of Grameen Bank, had stopped financing the Padma Bridge through Hillary Clinton through the World Bank. "They thought we would surrender here. But I am Sheikh Mujib's daughter and he should remember that. I have not bowed my head to injustice, I will not. And I love this country and the people of this country. Therefore, I will never do anything that'll hang the head of people of this country."
The Prime Minister said, "I think the Padma Bridge has created confidence in us. The knowledge of the people of our country about technology has increased. We can do much better in the future." She also mentioned that the bridge of such length has not been built in the world till date.
She thanked Allah Almighty and thanked the people of Bangladesh for their support. The Prime Minister said that during this time many individuals and organizations came forward with the spirit of cooperation, many of whose checks she kept in his memory, did not need to be cashed.
Ensuring navigability and diversification of river basins, currents, navigation clearance of the entire bridge from the original design of PM bridge, increasing the seismic resistance of the 8-magnitude Richter scale and the carrying capacity of this double-decker bridge. She also questioned the attitude of the critics towards the cost.
The Prime Minister termed it as a kind of inferiority complex and criticized them in the interest of the individual.
