Dhaka, April 10: On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Jatiya Sangsad, the resolution (general) brought by Prime Minister and Parliament Leader Sheikh Hasina was unanimously accepted in the Parliament on Monday. Prime Minister and Parliament Leader Sheikh Hasina raised the proposal on April 7 under Section 147 of the Rules of Procedure.

Presenting the proposal, the Prime Minister said that on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Bangladesh National Parliament, the opinion of the Parliament is that, "Bangladesh National Parliament will continue to play an effective and active role in the development of people's quality of life and the successful realization of their aspirations as the center of parliamentary democracy, and through this, democracy will become a well-integrated, exploitation-free society." The system is established, equality and justice for all will be ensured, we will all work together to fulfill these promises of the constitution, we will build a happy, prosperous, developed, hunger and poverty-free 'Smart Bangladesh', the golden bangla of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's dream - this is our conviction.

Leader of Parliament and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, Leader of Opposition Rowshan Ershad, Deputy Leader of Parliament Begum Matia Chowdhury, Deputy Leader of Opposition Ghulam Mohammad Quader and Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury participated in the last day of the special and 22nd session of the National Parliament to discuss the proposal brought by the Prime Minister.

Participating in the discussion, opposition leader Roshan Ershad called for the establishment of good governance in all areas so that the benefits of development reach the people. He said, if democracy continues in the country, development is sustainable. If democracy is hindered, development is hindered. So we need to strengthen our democracy institutionally for the sake of overall development. Consensus of all parties and opinions of the country is needed to maintain peace and prosperity in order to maintain the continuity of democracy.

Begum Matia Chowdhury said, 'Bangladesh's other name, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman' is a hard truth, that truth repeatedly penetrates the darkness and brings sunlight to the hearts of Bengalis. As Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman made huge sacrifices for the development of the nation, the development of the Parliament and the existence of the nation are closely related to each other.

He said that under the efficient leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the success of agriculture and farmers is making a special contribution to the country's economy today. Because of which Henry Kissinger can no longer call Bangladesh 'Bottomless Basket'.

Parliamentarians said, "Anti-independence under the umbrella of BNP is the main obstacle to the formation of a constitutional government". Railway Minister Nurul Islam and Social Welfare Minister Nuruzzaman Ahmed also participated in the discussion.
