The President and the Prime Minister left the memorial area at around 7 am after paying their respects and ceremonies. After that, the general people flocked to the memorial.

Earlier, President Md. Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina entered the Jatiyo Smriti Soudho (National Martyrs' Memorial) after 6:30 am. They entered the National Memorial at quarter past 7 am and offered flowers at the main altar. First, the President and then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina laid wreaths at the National Martyrs' Memorial Altar.
