PM returns home after 4-day India visit

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, Sept 9: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has returned home after a four-day state visit to India.

At 8:05 PM on Thursday (September 8), a Bangladesh Airlines special plane carrying the Prime Minister landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport. Awami League General Secretary and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also welcomed her at the airport lounge.

Earlier, the plane carrying the Prime Minister took off from Rajasthan's Jaipur International Airport for Dhaka around 5:30 pm local time. Rajasthan Education Minister BD Kalla and Bangladesh High Commissioner to India Muhammad Imran bid farewell to the Prime Minister there.

At the invitation of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Sheikh Hasina went to the neighboring country on September 5 on a four-day visit.

She held multiple meetings in New Delhi during the four days, including a bilateral meeting with Indian PM Narendra Modi following which seven MoUs were signed between the two countries.

Sheikh Hasina said, "India is our friend. Whenever I come to India, it is a great pleasure for me, especially when we remember India's contribution in our liberation war. We have a friendly relationship, we are helping each other."
