Sheikh Hasina Police are always with the people: Prime Minister
Dhaka, Jan 3: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that the police are always with the people. In any disaster, the police are there. In addition, the police also play a role in man-made disasters. They also sacrifice their lives to save people's lives. They never think before taking any risk. This is the great work of the police which is being done efficiently by the police.
She said these while addressing senior police officers at Rajarbagh Police Parade ground on Tuesday on the occasion of Police Week-2023.
The Prime Minister said that in 2013, 2014 and 2015, as a result of violence and arson, about 3,500 people were burnt. At least 500 people died due to the arson attack, where 29 policemen were burnt to death and many others were injured.
The Prime Minister also said, the way this BNP, Jamaat-Shibir killed people in broad daylight, in this way someone lays hands on the police! It is never seen. Although it happened in Bangladesh. Besides, 3,500 bus-trucks, 19 trains, 11 launches were burnt and destroyed. They torched 70 government and six land offices. At that time, the police members risked their lives to prevent such destructive activities and provided security to the public. Unfortunately, many policemen survived the fire, but some were so disfigured that they could not go in front of people. Such fire incidents should not happen again in Bangladesh.
