Police will rescue 20,000 tourists stranded in Cox's Bazar

Dhaka, November 6: About 20,000 tourists have been stranded in the tourist city of Cox's Bazar due to the sudden stoppage of public transport and long-distance buses. These tourists came to visit Cox's Bazar last Thursday and Friday morning. They could not return to their destination as public transport was closed.

But the Cox's Bazar district police has announced to take the tourists to Chittagong. Cox's Bazar Additional Superintendent of Police (Administration) Md Rafiqul Islam confirmed the matter to Dhaka Post around 3:00 pm on Saturday (November 6).

He said about 20,000 tourists were stranded in Cox's Bazar as long-distance bus services were disrupted. The tourists have suffered a great loss. With this in mind, the police administration has decided to take the tourists to Chittagong in its own transport.

Rafiqul Islam further said that the news has already been conveyed to the tourists through various units of the police. However, no fare will be required for these buses.

Many tourists have left Cox's Bazar by air for extra fare. Those who cannot afford it are trying to leave Cox's Bazar in small vehicles. But they are unable to leave Cox's Bazar as the rent is two to three times higher than other times, he said.

Millions of tourists come to Cox's Bazar on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays as weekly holidays. Many came to Cox's Bazar on Thursday. Many arrived again on Friday morning. Those who were scheduled to return on Friday arrived a few days earlier. The hotel officials said that there will be 20,000 such tourists. They could not leave Cox's Bazar on time as the bus service was suspended.
