Dhaka, September 9: President Md Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina have expressed deep grief over the death of Queen Elizabeth II of Britain. The President and the Prime Minister expressed their condolences in a message on Thursday night.
Queen Elizabeth II, the longest-reigning monarch of the British Empire, died at the age of 96 at Balmoral Palace in Scotland on Thursday afternoon local time.
The Queen died peacefully at Balmoral Park on Thursday afternoon, according to Buckingham Palace. Queen Elizabeth II has been on the British throne for 70 years. This year marks the 70th anniversary of his accession to the throne.
He was staying at Barmoral Palace in Scotland since last July.
The queen was last seen in public on Tuesday. On that day, Liz Truss officially took over as the Prime Minister of the United Kingdom after meeting the Queen at Balmoral Palace.
