Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 30 March 2024: President Md. Sahabuddin called upon all the forces supporting the liberation war, regardless of party affiliation, to work together to spread the spirit of the liberation war and communal harmony at the grassroots level. The President made this call on Thursday night at Bangabhaban during a meeting with a delegation led by prominent journalist Shahriar Kabir, president of the Khatak Dalal Nirmul Committee.

President's Press Secretary Zainal Abedin told Basas that he also mentioned the important role of Khatak Dalal Nirmul Committee in this regard.

The President said that the main goal of independence was to establish a non-communal Bangladesh free from hunger and poverty. But an anti-independence circle obstructed the achievement of that goal by assassinating Bangabandhu in 1975. He also emphasized on the ironclad unity of all pro-independence forces.

They sought the President's full cooperation in implementing the proposals and recommendations of the Sahabuddin Commission.
