Sahabuddin called upon all the forces supporting the liberation war, regardless of party affiliation, to work together to spread the spirit of the liberation war and communal harmony at the grassroots level. The President made this call on Thursday night at Bangabhaban during a meeting with a delegation led by prominent journalist Shahriar Kabir, president of the Khatak Dalal Nirmul Committee.

President returns back to Bangladesh from Saudi Arabia visit

Dhaka, July 3: After performing Hajj in Saudi Arabia, President Md Sahabuddin returned to the country. The aircraft carrying the President, his wife Dr. Rebecca Sultana and other family members and accompanying guests landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 1:47 PM on Sunday.

President leaves for Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj

Dhaka, June 23: President Mohammad Sahabuddin left Dhaka for Saudi Arabia on Friday on a 10-day visit to perform the Holy Haj as a royal guest of the Saudi government. A VVIP aircraft of Biman Bangladesh Airlines (Flight No: BG 331), the President, his wife Dr. Rebekah Sultana and entourage left Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport at 2.30 pm.

First Guard of Honor given to the President at Bangabhaban

Dhaka, April 26: President Md Sahabuddin took the first formal salute on Tuesday at the south-west part of the Credential ground of Bangabhaban. After taking oath yesterday, the first guard of honor was given to the Head of State at Bangabhaban today. The President inspected the guard and received the salute.

Notification issued declaring Sahabuddin as the President

Dhaka, February 15: The Election Commission (EC) has issued a notification announcing Md. Sahabuddin as the 22nd President of the country. Earlier on Monday afternoon, he was elected unopposed as there was no other candidate for the post of president. At that time Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Kazi Habibul Awal said that a notification will be issued in this regard today. In the afternoon, a notification signed by EC Secretary Jahangir Alam declared Md. Sahabuddin as the President.

I didn't think I would be President: Sahabuddin

Dhaka, February 14: Newly elected President Md. Sahabuddin said, I did not think that I will become the President. And I did not know about getting nominated for this position before Sunday (February 12). He said this in an interview given to the media on Monday (February 13).
