Dhaka, May 4: President Md. Sahabuddin urged all Buddhists to work together for the welfare of the country and people. He made this call while exchanging greetings with Buddhist leaders on the occasion of 'Shubh Buddha Purnima 2023' at the 'Credential Hall' of Bangabhavan on Thursday.

The head of state said, "Show people the way of light. Work for the welfare of the country and people."

Wishing and congratulating all the Buddhist communities of Bangladesh and the world, the President said, "Bangladesh's soil and people are mixed with ancient Buddhist monasteries and Buddhist traditions of thousands of years."

Md. Sahabuddin urged the leaders of the Buddhist community to spread the noble teachings and ideals of Gautama Buddha to build a happy, prosperous and peaceful Bangladesh. He also emphasized on inspiring everyone to live an honest and beautiful life, inspire others to do good deeds and make themselves worthy citizens of the country.
