Own correspondent, Dhaka, 9 February 2024: All public and private primary schools in the country will also be open during the fast. The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education has revised the list of annual holidays to meet the learning deficit of students. It has been informed that regular teaching activities of primary schools will continue for the first 10 days of the holy month of Ramadan.

This information was informed in the office order signed by Aktarunnahar, Deputy Secretary (Schools-1) of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education on Thursday, February 8. It has been said that the ministry has decided to start regular teaching activities in primary schools for the first 10 days of the upcoming Holy Ramadan by partially revising the list of holidays and curriculum for the academic year 2024.

Earlier, the Ministry of Education issued a notification that secondary level schools will be open for 15 days of Ramadan. Mosammat Rahima Akhter, deputy secretary of the ministry's secondary and higher education department, signed it.

It is said in the notification that the ministry has given consent to continue the class activities of public and private secondary and lower secondary schools for a total of 15 days from March 11 to March 25 by partially amending the list of holidays and the curriculum of the academic year 2024.

It is known that on December 12, the Ministry of Education issued the notification of the 2024 holiday list in secondary schools. According to that list - holidays were kept from March 11 to April 18. Classes were supposed to be closed for a long period of time including several public holidays including Holy Ramadan, Eid-ul-Fitr, Summer Vacation, National Children's Day, Independence Day, Easter Sunday. However, the Ministry of Education announced a new decision after withdrawing from it. According to the decision, class activities of all public and private secondary and lower secondary schools will continue for 15 days from March 11 to March 25.
