Dhaka, May 28: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has called for utilizing rail connectivity to increase online trade and commerce. The Prime Minister made the remarks while laying the foundation stone of a new railway line project from Madhukhali in Faridpur to Magura via Kamarkhali via video conferencing on Thursday (May 27).

Sheikh Hasina said, "We have to make arrangements for the Magura line from Madhukhali to Kamarkhali to Kushtia Meherpur. We also want to bring the historic site of Mujibnagar government under the railways. We want to bring the whole country under the railway service."

The Prime Minister also expressed her desire to do so.

She said, "We are launching Mango Special Train to deliver mangoes from Rajshahi region to the whole country. As soon as we hear the name Mango Special, our tongues will water. A while ago we had a meeting with the Postal Department. We are looking at options to provide postal services across the country."

The Prime Minister said, "Online shopping, trade and commerce are taking place. Railways can be a great medium. I urge you to take advantage of this opportunity."

Announcing the inauguration of Mango Train, the Prime Minister said, "Stay well, stay healthy and have fun while eating mangoes."

At that time, an official said, it is raining in Chapainawabganj now. In reply, the Prime Minister said, "Yes, it is raining a bit. I came back from exile with a storm on my head. So I have to continue with storms and rains, that is my destiny."

Railway Minister Nurul Islam Sujan, Railway Secretary Selim Reza, local MPs and people from all walks of life and people from all walks of life including local MPs from Chapainawabganj were present on the occasion.
