Hasina's France Visit Prime Minister's visit to France is historic, says Foreign Minister Momen
Dhaka, November 13: Foreign Minister Dr AK Abdul Momen has termed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visit to France as historic. He said the European country has shown rare respect for the prime minister amd expressed interest in taking bilateral relations with Bangladesh to new heights.
Talking to reporters at the Prime Minister's residence on Friday (November 12), he added that no head of state or government of Bangladesh has so far received the honour bestowed on Sheikh Hasina during her visit.
Highlighting the various arrangements made in Sheikh Hasina's honour during her visit to France, Momen said she was warmly welcomed by the French President, Prime Minister and others. This has reflected the interest in taking bilateral relations to new heights. He said the Prime Minister was given a red carpet reception at the airport and at the Elysee Palace. Besides, a guard of honour was given to Sheikh Hasina at the official residence of the French President.
The Foreign Minister said that the governments of different countries attending the UNESCO Conference, highly appreciated the development of Bangladesh under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina.
Among others, PM's Press Secretary Ihsanul Karim, Foreign Secretary Masood Bin Momen and Deputy PM's Press Secretary KM Shakhawat Moon were present on the occasion.
