Own Correspondent, Dhaka, January 5, 2024: Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has said that there is still a conspiracy going on to prevent the election from happening. BNP itself will not go to the election, and will not allow others to vote. They want to take away people's right to vote. Everyone will vote peacefully to prove that democracy exists in Bangladesh.

The Prime Minister said these things at a rally organized by Awami League at Shamsujjoha Sports Complex ground in Isdair area of Narayanganj city on Thursday afternoon. This is the last election public meeting of Awami League on the occasion of the 12th parliamentary elections. Sheikh Hasina said, 'People go forward and if there is BNP, they go backward. We increased power generation when we came to power. And Khaleda Zia came to power and reduced our electricity production to the previous level. They come to power and do misrule and corruption. Awami League leaders and activists were killed. Like the Pakistani invasion forces, they oppress people.

Highlighting the various steps taken by the government, the head of government said, 'My promise was that no people will be landless during the Mujib year. We have given land to the landless. I have increased the salary of the workers. Extended maternity leave. No need to buy books for children anymore. We have given electricity to every house. But you will be economical in electricity usage. Do not use unnecessary electricity. Our goal is to give the people of the country a new self-sufficient life.

She said that there has been so much development in the country because the democratic trend continues. Bangladesh has risen from a low-income country to a middle-income country. Bangladesh will move towards a developed country at an unstoppable speed. Referring to the 'Awami League, the ancient wise organization of the subcontinent', the Prime Minister said that the people of Bangladesh have gained independence with blood. We are not looking forward to anyone. I will not depend on anyone. You have to stand on your own feet.

Sheikh Hasina said, 'We are taking the country forward. And BNP kills people. On October 28, BNP attacked the police hospital. Killed the police. The Chief Justice's house was attacked.
