Mohanganj Express RAB identifies four people who set Mohanganj Express on fire at Tejgaon
Dhaka, Dec 22: The Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) said that four people have been identified in connection with the fire incident in the Mohanganj Express train at Tejgaon in the capital. They said that two of them are workers of opposition political parties and the other two are floating persons. All of them are being monitored.
Commander of RAB-3 Colonel Arif Mohiuddin Ahmed gave this information in a press briefing at Kamalapur railway station in the capital on Thursday.
He said, "We got several clues and names in the case of train fire in Tejgaon area. I have identified them in two categories. I am not releasing the names for the sake of investigation. We have also taken information from the CC footage. Two of those whose names and pictures I got are involved in opposition politics. And two floating people. Floating people in the railway area were used to set the train on fire. We are looking into all aspects."
He further said that our team will scan the railway carriage. Sweeping, dog squad and intelligence surveillance will be increased. These steps will be taken in coordination with the Railway Police.
Meanwhile, Dhaka Metropolitan Police Additional Commissioner (DB) Mohammad Harun Or Rashid said that setting fire to trains is not a part of politics, it is a form of mischief. Those who set fire to train carriages will not get exemption. DB Police along with law enforcement are working.
DB chief said, "Those who are doing this work, be it as tenants or for greed of money, should leave the place and stop vandalism. It is not at all right to do this work on the orders of an elder brother."
He said that after any incident, DB investigates the shadow of it. Four fresh lives including children were lost due to vandalism and mischief on the train. Those who have done this have been doing this since the 28th to falsify the elections and terrorize the common people. They are setting fire to buses at isolated places. I have arrested several people. Again they started setting fire to the train.
Requesting the common people, DB chief Haroon Or Rashid said, those who want to sabotage, tell us the names and numbers, they will be brought under the law.
