RAB Raids RAB raids different hospitals in Dhaka
Dhaka, Oct 29: RAB has formed task force at different hospitals in the capital's Mohammadpur and Shyamoli areas to crack down on irregular and fake doctors. The operation started from Babur Road in Mohammadpur and Shyamoli at 9:45 pm on Wednesday.
RAB executive magistrate Palash Kumar Bose said operations were underway against fake doctors and irregularities at Mohammadpur and Shyamoli's Mecca-Medina Hospital, Nurjahan General Hospital, Crescent Hospital and other hospitals. Taskforce operations and mobile courts are being conducted in collaboration with RAB-2 and DG Health representatives.
He added that a mobile court has already been set up on the basis of allegations of obstruction of medical services by influential middlemen, obstruction of government work and harassment of patients by ordinary brokers from different parts of the country. In its continuation RAB-2 has already arrested a number of fake doctors and several brokers in today's operation.
According to the executive magistrate, the gang had been holding patients hostage for a long time and diverting them from government hospitals, including the cripple hospital, by offering them low-cost, high-quality treatment at various private hospitals.
According to the investigation, medical services are provided in these private hospitals by fake doctors.
Today’s campaign is proving its veracity and various types of sensitive and complex surgeries are performed in hospitals without trained doctors and in most cases patients do not get proper services.
In some cases, patients have been charged with severe loss of wealth, life and body parts.
Patients are billed heavily are not released if they cannot pay large bills, and in most cases they are detained if they cannot pay.
