Bus Fare | BNP Road Transport Minister Obaidul Quader promises strict action if companies charge extra fares
Dhaka, November 9: Minister for Road Transport and Bridges and Awami League General Secretary Obaidul Quader has warned that the government will be forced to take strict action in the public interest if transport companies charges more money than the fixed fare.
The Minister for Road Transport and Bridges issued the warning to the transport owners and workers at a briefing at his official residence on Monday (November 8) morning. He said that no extra money beyond the fixed fare should be collected from the passengers in any way. The government will be forced to take strict action in the public interest if it breaks its promise in this regard.
The minister said the increased fare would not be applicable to gas, octane and petrol vehicles. The Home Minister is taking initiative to resolve the issue of truck-covered van strike with the concerned leaders.
Regarding the various statements of the BNP leaders, the Awami League general secretary said, there is no terrible situation in the country. The government has taken a strong stand against communal evils, corruption and irregularities in the public interest.
Mentioning that the government's stance against those who plunder the resources of the people is naturally harsh, he said that the BNP is making such statements because it has sided with the plunderers of resources. The undemocratic dictatorial (BNP-Jaamat) government has infiltrated and corrupted the politics in this country. He said the BNP will never be able to avoid this responsibility.
Quader said the time has come to unmask those who killed the great hero of the liberation war and ran the state against the spirit of independence.
Obaidul Quader said, BNP wants to cover the sky with the palm of their hand, but the truth will be revealed, the flood of truth is irresistible. "The conspiratorial incidents that took place from November 3 to November 7, 1975 were not made public. Some people have created artificial images. It is time to unmask those incidents and those responsible by forming a commission of inquiry."
