Dhaka, August 5: Bangabandhu's eldest son Sheikh Kamal was killed with a stun gun after Bangabandhu's son introduced himself. Major Bazlul Huda first shot Sheikh Kamal in the leg. The kill was later confirmed by brushfire.

According to the testimony of one of the guards of Bangabandhu's house, Habildar Quddus Sikder, Bajlul Huda and Captain Noor Chowdhury entered the house first. With a few others. As soon as they entered the house, they saw Sheikh Kamal. Immediately Bajlul Huda shot him with a Stengun. Sheikh Kamal fell from the balcony and fell into the reception room. There he was shot dead again. This description is also included in the direct testimony of Mohitul Islam, the resident personal assistant of Bangabandhu Bhavan and the plaintiff in the murder case.

Mohitul Islam joined the service of the then Prime Minister's Secretariat as an assistant on December 13, 1972. He was the resident PA-cum-receptionist of the then President Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in 1975. He was on duty from 8 pm on August 14 to 8 am the next morning. Mohitul Islam said in his testimony about the killing of Sheikh Kamal, "It will be 4:30-5 in the morning. All around has become fair. Electric lights were also burning around the house. The firing started at Bangabandhu's residence. After a while, when the firing stopped, the servant's son, Abdul alias Salim, brought Punjabi glasses from upstairs. Then Sheikh Kamal came from above and said 'Army and police brothers, come with me. Then three or four armed army men in uniform came. Meanwhile, khaki-clad Bajlul Huda shot Sheikh Kamal in the leg. When Sheikh Kamal, Sheikh Mujib's son, introduced himself, Sheikh Kamal was immediately killed by brushfire."

The truth of this is also found in what Bangabandhu told the then army chief General Shafiullah on the telephone after the home invasion. In two interviews with a national daily in 1987 and 1993, Shafiullah said that Bangabandhu called him after the home invasion urging him to send forces immediately. Bangabandhu said, "Shafiullah your force attacked my house. Kamal feels that Myra is leaving. You send the force immediately."
