Tentultala ground: Civil society expresses gratitude to Prime Minister

Own Correspondent, Dhaka, April 30: Civil society, environmental groups and local people have thanked Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina for directing to cancel the decision to construct a police station building at the Tentultala playground in the capital's Kalabagan area.

They thanked the Prime Minister at a press conference held at Tentultala ground in the city on Friday afternoon. Dr. Zafarullah Chowdhury, social worker Rasheda K Chowdhury, architect Mobasher Hossain, Syed Rizwana Hasan and Syeda Ratna among others were present at the press conference. They stood for a few minutes and paid their respects to the Prime Minister.

On the occasion, Dr. Zafarullah called upon the Home Minister and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) to make the ground suitable for children's play. He said the public health center will provide assistance for this if necessary.

Architect Mobasher Hossain said the Institute of Architects Bangladesh (IAB), a professional body of architects, would do its utmost to help build a modern playground for children.

Rasheda K Chowdhury, an adviser to the former caretaker government, said Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina had once again proved that she is a worthy daughter of Bangabandhu.

Chowdhury said that after Eid, Eid reunion will be organized in this ground with the participation of all.
