Shahjalal Airport The third terminal of Shahjalal Airport was inaugurated in October
Own Correspondent, Dhaka, 28 July 2023: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina will inaugurate the third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in October. The contractor said that 81 percent of the terminal work has been completed. On Thursday, Chief Secretary to the Prime Minister Md Tofazzal Hossain visited the third terminal under construction of Shahjalal Airport.
Civil Aviation and Tourism Ministry Secretary Md. Mokammel Hossain and Civil Aviation Chairman Air Vice Marshal Md. Mofidur Rahman along with the officials of the contractor were present. Before the visit, the chairman of civil aviation and the consultant of the contracting company told the chief secretary that 81 percent of the work on the third terminal under construction has been completed.
The Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister inspected various parts of the terminal under construction including elevated driveway, boarding bridge, departure lounge facility, check-in counter and central security system. Hazrat Shahjalal Airport will have all the facilities of the world's top local modern airports.
The terminal will have 37 aircraft parking spaces on an area of 542 thousand square meters, a parking building with parking facilities for 1 thousand 230 cars, an import-export cargo complex of 63 thousand square feet and 115 check-in counters.
