Dhaka, May 19: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina said that those involved in terrorism and militancy have no religion. She said, "Those who are creating militancy and terrorism belong to all religions. In fact, they have no religion."

She said, "If anyone thinks that they will go to heaven by killing innocent people, it will never happen. Almighty Allah did not say that. Our Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (PBUH) did not say that."

She made this call while inaugurating the Hajj Program 2023 (1444 Hijri) at the Hajj office in Ashkona area of the capital on Friday.

Sheikh Hasina said, "I call upon you (pilgrims) and scholars to stand bravely against militancy and terrorism, so that our children can stay away from it and develop themselves as skilled in modern technology to build a better Bangladesh."

She said, "Islam is the religion of peace, the best religion of the world. It is always the religion of human welfare, which guarantees human rights. But few people are becoming the reason for condemning Islam. Everyone must take initiative to stop people from this heinous act. All about our children. Be aware."

The head of government said, "My biggest demand to you (pilgrims) is that you pray for the people of Bangladesh, so that no one can play with their fate."

The Prime Minister also called upon the pilgrims to pray for the protection of Bangladesh and its people from man-made or natural calamities. Sheikh Hasina said, "In addition to natural disasters, man-made disasters occur in Bangladesh. Here, people are killed by arson, violence and fire in transport."

The head of government also said, "The present government has worked tirelessly day and night to bring Bangladesh to a position where the people of the country can at least eat food." Noting that not a single person in the country will be homeless or landless, she said, "I am fulfilling the dream of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman."

Sheikh Hasina wished the pilgrims good health and said, "As guests of Allah, you are going to Mecca-Madinah as well as the house of Allah. We pray that you can perform Hajj safely, healthily and beautifully. Also, you can return home healthy."
