Three women join Sheikh Hasina's Cabinet

Dhaka, January 12, 2024: The new cabinet has been formed with 37 members. There are four women in this cabinet including the Prime Minister.

The Prime Minister and new ministers took oath at Bangabhaban on Thursday evening. President Mohammad Sahabuddani administered the oath at Tadar. After the swearing-in, a notification was issued from the cabinet division, distributing the offices.

The new cabinet consists of 25 ministers and 11 deputy ministers. In the new cabinet, Prime Minister Shakhe Hasnia will hold the portfolios of Cabinet, Defense Ministry, Armed Forces, Power, Energy and Mineral Resources, Sanskrit Affairs and Labor and Human Resources.

Dr. among women. Dipu Monki has been given the charge of Social Welfare Minister.

Samini Hosane Ramiki has been appointed as the Deputy Minister in the Ministry of Women and Children. In the 12th National Assembly elections, Samini Hosane has been elected as a Member of Parliament from Gazipur-4 (Kapasya) constituency. She is the daughter of Tajuddin Ahmad, the first Prime Minister of Bangladesh.

Rumana Ali, the other woman deputy minister, was given responsibility in the Ministry of Primary Education and Public Education. Rumana Ali is elected Member of Parliament from Gazipur-3 Constituency. Rumana Ali is the daughter of the great Mukta Juddharre organizer and late member of the Awami League sub-committee, Advocate Rahmat Ali.
