Terrorism Two arrested for planning to attack Parliament building
Dhaka, May 6: The DMP's counter-terrorism unit has arrested a member of the banned militant group Ansar al-Islam for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack on the parliament building. At the same time, a speaker was arrested on charges of inciting the attack. The person's name is Ali Hassan Osama. He was arrested from Rajbari. However, the name of another arrested person is not yet known.
Iftekhairul Islam, Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) of the DMP's Media and Public Relations Department, made the announcement on Thursday (May 6).
He said an active member of Ansar al-Islam was arrested in the evening from the Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area of the capital. The arrested Ansar al-Islam member was involved in planning a terrorist attack on the parliament building with a black flag and a sword.
