Padma Setu | Fine Two bikers fined Tk 6,000 for stopping and taking pictures on Padma bridge
Dhaka, April 22: The traffic police fined two motorcyclists Tk 6,000 for standing on the Padma bridge and taking pictures. Motorcyclists Md Monir Hossain and Md Ismail were fined at Shariatpur's Naodoba area around 10 am on Friday.
Monir Hossain's house is Boalmari in Faridpur. He works in a garment in Nabinagar. And Md Ismail's house is in Shankarchandra Union of Chuadanga Sadar Upazila. In Dhaka, he drives a motorbike on rent from Pathao App.
Munshiganj Traffic Inspector Bajlur Rahman confirmed this information and said that the two men were taking pictures while crossing the bridge. Later, without stopping them at the bridge, they were taken to the Jazira end and a fine of Tk 6,000 (Tk 3,000 each) was collected from them.
Bazlur Rahman also said, subject to certain conditions, motorcycle traffic started on Padma Bridge from 6 am on Thursday. One of the conditions was that under no circumstances can photographs be taken while standing on the bridge. But they have been fined under the Traffic Act as they have violated the conditions.
