Dhaka: Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina's niece Tulip Siddiq won the UK general polls from Hampstead and Kilburn seat.

She won it by a margin of 14,188 votes, bagging 28,080 against her Conservative rival Johnny Luk.

She is a Labour Party leader.

In the previous 2017 polls, she was, for the second time, elected to represent the constituency after securing 34,464 votes. Her main rival at the time was Conservative candidate Claire-Louise, who bagged 18,904 votes, reported Dhaka Tribune.

Tulip, who is Sheikh Rehana’s daughter, became the first Bangali woman councillor in Camden Council in May 2010.

She contested and won in the parliamentary polls for the first time in 2015.
