Vandalism in Supreme Court: 18 pro-BNP lawyers made accused

Dhaka, August 4: A case has been filed against the names of 18 pro-BNP lawyers for vandalism in the office of the Supreme Court Lawyers Association and assault on pro-Awami lawyers. Assistant Superintendent of the Supreme Court Lawyers Association Md. Rafiqullah filed this case as the plaintiff in Shahbag police station of the capital on Thursday evening.

In the case, BNP's legal affairs secretary Barrister Kaiser Kamal, former Supreme Court Bar secretary Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, former editor Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal, Nationalist Lawyers Forum Supreme Court Branch General Secretary Advocate Gazi Kamrul Islam and 18 people have been accused. On the other hand, there have been reports of filing a complaint against Awami pro lawyer Momtaz Uddin Fakir, Advocate Abdun Noor Dulal and several other lawyers.

When asked about this, pro-Awami lawyer Abdun Noor Dulal told Jago News, "We have filed a case against many people including pro-BNP lawyers Barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon, Barrister Kaiser Kamal, Barrister Ruhul Quddus Kajal and Gazi Kamrul Islam Sajal at Shahbag police station. The case alleges vandalism of Supreme Court Bar Editor's room and attack on our peaceful program. Case No. 5 at Shahbag police station.

On the other hand, barrister Mahbub Uddin Khokon said that a complaint has been filed in Shahbagh Police Station against the attack on pro-BNP lawyers in the Supreme Court.

He said that there was a press conference of the Nationalist Lawyers Forum to protest the verdict of formal sentence against BNP Acting Chairman Tariq Rahman and his wife Zobayda Rahman.

He also said that when we started the press conference in the hall room of the Supreme Court Bar Association, pro-Awami lawyers led by Momtaz Uddin Fakir and Abdun Noor Dulal entered there and tried to stop the press conference. The Senior Special Judge of Dhaka Metropolitan sentenced Tariq Rahman to 9 years and his wife Zobayda Rahman to 3 years in two sections of the Penal Code in the case filed by the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) on charges of concealment of wealth information and acquisition of assets outside known income during the One-Eleven government. : Achaduzzaman.

Awami League and BNP lawyers held alternate marches, rallies and press conferences in the Supreme Court premises on Thursday around this verdict. At one point, they found each other guilty and filed a complaint at the police station.
