11th parliament's last session to sit on October 22

Dhaka, Oct 6: The last session of the current Parliament will be held on October 22. Parliament will meet at 4 pm that day. On Thursday, President Md. Shahabuddin called this session as his constitutional power.

This will be the 25th session of the current 11th National Parliament and the fifth session of the current year. This is also the last session of the 11th National Parliament. The first session of the current eleventh parliament was held on January 30, 2019. According to the provisions of the constitution, subject to the expiry of the term of the parliament, the parliamentary elections will be held within 90 days before the expiry of the term.

Meanwhile, the provision of the Constitution regarding the session of the Parliament is that the interval between one session and the next session shall not exceed 60 days. However, there will be no obligation to hold a meeting of the Parliament within the last 90 days of the election. That is, there will be no need for a parliamentary session within 90 days of the election period. The countdown to the parliamentary elections will begin on November 2. As a result, the upcoming session is the last session of the current parliament.
