Commission to be set up to find those behind Bangabandhu's assassination

Dhaka, November 20: Law Minister Anisul Haque has said a commission is being formed to find out those behind the assassination of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. He also said that discussions are underway on the process of formation of the commission. The minister made the remarks in response to a question from Monira Sultana, a member of the reserved seat in the National Assembly, on Thursday (November 19).

The minister said a commission would be formed to find out the local and foreign heroes involved in the assassination of Bangabandhu. The process of forming the commission is already being discussed. How the commission will be formed with whom. Stakeholders are working to determine the scope of work of the commission.

Referring to the verdict in the Bangabandhu murder case, Anisul Haque said that the trial of the killers was arranged in a completely impartial manner under the existing law and in the existing court.

The convicts have already been executed after the trial. However, all efforts are still being made to bring back the killers who have fled and taken refuge in different countries.

The minister said the present government is working relentlessly to establish the rule of law in the country by ensuring proper justice to alleviate the suffering of the people seeking justice.

The government is committed to ensuring justice for all, rich and poor alike, and to establish justice in society by making visible improvements in the justice system.

Responding to a question from AKM Rahmatullah of the ruling party, Fisheries and Livestock Minister Sham Rezaul Karim said the Bangladesh National Zoo currently has 133 species of animals, birds and beautiful aquarium fish. The total number is 2,722.

According to the minister, the zoo has 382 large animals (herbivores) of 17 species, 36 carnivores of 11 species, 152 small mammals of 13 species, 69 reptiles of 9 species, 1,137 birds of 57 species and 946 aquarium fish of 26 species.
