Dhaka, August 25: Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni on Tuesday said that preparations have been made and educational institutions will be opened soon. 

"From the beginning of this global crisis, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has instructed us to prioritize health care without disrupting the education of our students. That's what we're doing so far. We have adopted various methods so that they do not fall behind in their studies," the Education Minister said.

"The way the infection rate is coming down is a good news for us. If there is this decline, we will be able to open all the educational institutions soon. We will open it step by step,as the number of students in our classroom is more than any other country in the world. It is important to maintain social distance in this disease.

"Not everyone will have the opportunity to take classes six days a week from the beginning. It will take some time. We have overall preparations for the opening of educational institutions. We are just waiting for the infection rate to go down a bit more," she added.

Awami League General Secretary and Minister for Road Transport and Bridges Obaidul Quader was the chief guest at the program titled 'Shorone Shrodheyo 75' (In memory of 75).

Presided over by Ataur Rahman, State Minister for Social Welfare Ashraf Ali Khan Khasru, State Minister for Culture KM Khalid and Awami League Cultural Affairs Secretary Asim Kumar Ukil also spoke on the occasion. Dr. Nuzhat Chowdhury presented the program.
