Fire Accident Four members of the same family killed Rupganj fire
Four members of the same family have died in a fire that broke out in Rupganj upazila of Narayanganj. The accident took place on Friday (January 22) at around 8:45 pm when the DESCO tear fell on the 11,000 volt power line of Narayanganj Palli Bidyut in Kumartech area of Sector 11 in Purbachal.
The station officer of Purbachal Multipurpose Fire Service said, "The fire started when DESCO burst on its 11,000 volt power line in Kumartech area near our Purbachal Multipurpose Fire Station at around 9.45 pm."
At that time, Mashum Mia, who was living under that line, fell on the roof of his house and caught fire. Mashum Miao, the owner of the house, was killed along with his two disabled children.
He added that after receiving the news, three units of Purbachal Fire Service reached the spot and were able to put out the fire within 20 minutes. The fire service members rescued Mashum's wife Seema from the house in a severely burnt condition. He was later taken to the Upazila Health Complex where the on-duty doctor declared him dead.
