Dhaka, November 13: Several organizations in the country have demanded Foreign Minister AK Abdul Momen's resignation, including the withdrawal of his statement in the international media about the attack on Hindu homes and temples across Bangladesh. Leaders of Bangladesh Chhatra Oikya Parishad, Bangladesh Juba Oikya Parishad, Bangladesh Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Oikya Parishad and Bangladesh Jatiya Hindu Mahajote made the demand at a procession and rally in front of the National Press Club on Friday (November 12) afternoon.

The speakers said, "The Prime Minister has expressed her sympathy for the attack on the houses and temples of Hindus across the country and said that it will be brought to justice. But, how could the foreign minister make a false statement. He has embarrassed Bangladesh globally. We are demanding his resignation."

They said that no criminal has been brought to justice yet. The speakers added that the Foreign Minister has lied to international media and brought shame to Bangladesh by saying no attack had taken place in the country. "We hope that he will resign immediately and free the country from this shame," they said.

The speakers said, "Temples in our country are attacked, there are protests and demonstrations all over the country and the matter has spread to India. But the foreign minister said nothing happened in Bangladesh. We reject your statement. You also have to withdraw this statement."

Ushatan Talukder; Acting President of Hindu-Buddhist-Christian Unity Council Dr. Nimchandra Bhowmik; Dr. MK Roy; Pradeep Kumar Acharya; Professor Hirendranath and other leaders of Oikya Parishad and Hindu Mahajot addressed the rally.
