Dhaka, March 6: Law Minister Anisul Huq said, "BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia's application for parole extension has not yet been received. After receiving the application, a further decision will be taken."

He said this in response to questions from reporters after inaugurating the government case tracking system Soltrack software at the judicial administration training institute in the capital on Sunday (March 5).

Khaleda Zia's release period expires on March 24, in response to a question whether there has been any application on her behalf or not, the Law Minister told reporters, "We have not received any application so far. Action will be taken based on the application."

It is known that Khaleda Zia's special consideration will expire on March 24. On September 24 last year, the Ministry of Home Affairs issued a notification extending the release period (sixth phase) of Khaleda Zia by six months. Her parole ends on March 24 of this month.

Law Minister Anisul Haque said that since the launch of the tracking system Soltrack software, it will be helpful in the proper conclusion of the more than 91 thousand cases that the government has in the Supreme Court. He said that more than 91 thousand government cases are pending in the high court. This software will be very helpful for tracking them and their smooth completion.

The inauguration ceremony of Soltrack software was organized in the auditorium of the Judicial Administration Training Institute of the capital. It was presided over by Law and Judiciary Secretary Golam Sarwar and the special guest was Cabinet Secretary Md. Mahbub Hossain.
