Dhaka, April 4: Assistant High Commissioner of India assigned to Bangladesh, Manoj Kumar, has assured the issuance of visas after visiting Banglabandha land port and immigration check post.

On Monday, he visited Banglabandha land port and went inside India and met the country's customs officials and BSF officials. Later, he exchanged views with the officials and businessmen of Banglabandha land port including import-export group, C&F.

Indian Assistant High Commissioner Manoj Kumar said that Banglabandha land port is very important in India-Bangladesh trade due to its geographical location. Therefore, the import-export problems between the two countries will be resolved quickly. At the same time, the issue of Indian visa being closed for a long time in Banglabandha immigration will also be resolved.

Meanwhile, the leaders and activists of Banglabandha Land Port Import-Export Group and Panchagarh Chamber of Commerce said that Bangladeshis are not being issued Indian visas at Banglabandha Immigration Check Post, the country's only quadrilateral land port since Corona. Due to this, the Bangladeshis of this region cannot go to India using this route as they do not have visa permission.

This route is very important to the people of the entire country, especially the northern region. Therefore, if the immigration check post of the port insists on granting Indian visa to the route before Eid, it has been informed that the route will be officially allowed within the next 15 days.
