Dhaka, March 6: Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has asked the members of the Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) to be more vigilant against dishonest traders to control the prices of daily necessities in the upcoming month of Ramadan.

She said, “Holy Ramadan is coming. It is sad that some unscrupulous traders become more greedy this month instead of curbing their greed.”

She said this on Wednesday (March 6) at the RAB headquarters in Dhaka's Kurmitola on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of the force.

The Prime Minister said, "A class of businessmen start stocking essential commodities during Ramadan, increase prices and adopt various strategies."

She directed RAB members to take appropriate action against these dishonest traders and smugglers.

Sheikh Hasina also directed the RAB members to strengthen the campaign against fake notes in view of Eid.

"The operation against these traders is going on and I urge you to continue the operation," she said.

Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan Kamal and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) Director General M Khurshid Hossain spoke on the occasion.

A documentary on RAB's recent activities was screened on the occasion.
