Padma Bridge Record Tk 4.61 crore toll collected on Padma Bridge
Dhaka, June 28: A new record was created in the toll collection on Padma Bridge on Tuesday, June 27. 4 crore 61 lakh 34 thousand 70 taka was collected in 24 hours. This is the highest toll ever collected on the bridge.
According to related sources, the pressure of people returning to the bridge on Tuesday due to Eid increases. On that day, 43 thousand 137 vehicles crossed both ends of the bridge. Among them, 13 thousand 240 vehicles crossed the bridge through Jazira end. The toll income is 1 crore 91 lakh 34 thousand 300 taka. And the amount of toll on 29 thousand 897 vehicles passing through Mawa border is 2 crore 70 lakh 400 taka.
Additional Director of Padma Bridge Site Office on Wednesday. Amirul Haider Chowdhury said, this is the highest toll income so far. Before this, the second highest toll of Tk 4 crore 19 lakh 39 thousand 650 was collected on July 7 last year. 31 thousand 723 vehicles passed that day. Besides, the third highest toll was collected on April 21 of that year. On that day, 35 thousand 524 vehicles crossed the toll of Tk 3 crore 91 lakh 50 thousand.
This official also said that the amount of toll income of Padma Bridge has exceeded 800 crore rupees. Toll revenue till Tuesday was 809 crore 78 lakh 40 thousand 250 taka. A total of 57 lakh 71 thousand 788 vehicles passed through.
