Sacrificial animal to be brought to Dhaka on 'Mango Train'

Dhaka, June 24: Railways have arranged to bring sacrificial animals to Dhaka from Chapainawabganj at low cost around Eid-ul-Azha. However, they said that the 'Cattle Special Train' will not be run separately this time. The sacrificial animal will be transported in a separate wagon of the 'Mango Special' train.

Chapainawabganj Railway Station Master Md. Obaidullah said on Friday evening that for the third time on the occasion of upcoming Eid-ul-Azha, sacrificial animals will be sent to Dhaka in separate wagons of Mango Special Train from Chapainawabganj's Rahanpur Railway Station to Dhaka. The train will leave Rahanpur railway station at 4 pm for Dhaka. Along the way, Chapainawabganj railway station and six other stations will reach Tejgaon in Dhaka late at night with sacrificial animals.

Each wagon can carry 20 cows. The fare of a wagon from Chapainawabganj, Kankanhat, Rajshahi will be Tk 11,830. The fare for transporting a cow from these stations has been fixed at Tk 592.

Sacrificial animals can be transported by mango train from today Saturday. It will continue for three consecutive days (until June 26). First, the train will leave the district's Rahanpur railway station at 4 pm with sacrificial animals and mangoes. From Chapainbaganj railway station at 6:00 pm, from Kankanhat railway station at 6:40 pm, from Baral Bridge at 9:25 pm, from Sirajganj Ullapara railway station at 10 pm and from Bangabandhu Bridge (East) at 10:40 pm for Tejgaon. In between Joydevpur and Dhaka Airport railway stations will stand for booking. The train will reach Tejgaon at 1:15 pm.
